These cliffhangers are killing me, its getting harder and harder to wait a week for new episodes (wake me up next Monday). This episode may not have been as explosive as last weeks but the lines are drawn and set up perfectly for the final four episodes.
So everyone seems to want Jesse dead (sad face) expect Walter. Much of this episode was spent having all the characters around Walt convinced Jesse had to go, Saul finally brought up putting Jesse down like Old Yeller and Walt again rejected the idea. Skyler suggested it too and the scene between Walt and Skyler was really unsettling for me; Walt seems to have corrupted everyone at this point, even Marie is talking about fantasies of killing Walt. Its interesting to see Walt is the only one who is putting the brakes on the whole thing, his still got a soft spot for Jesse.
On to Jesse’s dilemma, once again we get another great performance from Aaron Paul. Hank stops him from burning down the White household. You could feel the pain through the screen as he yells “HE CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!” is one of the most powerful as any line he’s delivered on the show and I do wonder what his new plan is.
I can’t help but feel he messes up here, big-time. It’s hard to blame him, though. As he tells Hank and Gomez, “Mr. White? He’s the Devil. He is smarter than you. He is luckier than you. Whatever you think is supposed to happen, I’m telling you, the exact reverse opposite is going to happen.” He ironically fails to listen to his own advice. That bald guy ruined everything!
We’re at a point now where it almost doesn’t matter how Breaking Bad actually ends. Every person who watches this show, is all in. We’re watching something amazing. It’s wonderful. Four more to go. 8/10.
